Tenix signs agreement with Tide, marking a significant expansion of a long-standing partnership between the two companies. Under the new agreement, Tenix will supply advanced fleet management systems and driving style systems to Tide, Norway’s second-largest bus company. The contract has a total value of NOK 12 million and will run until 2029 in selected regions.
The agreement reinforces Tenix’s role as a leading technology provider in the Nordic transport sector and highlights the increasing demand for data-driven solutions in public and commercial mobility. By equipping Tide’s fleet with intelligent systems, Tenix supports the company’s efforts to improve operational efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and enhance passenger experiences.
“We are pleased that Tide wishes to continue its partnership with Tenix. The green transition is in full swing within the mobility industry, and as the country’s second-largest mobility company, Tide plays a crucial role in the shift towards a more sustainable bus industry. With Tenix’s smart systems, Tide will be at the forefront of this work,” says Torbjørn G. Krøvel, CEO of Tenix.
The agreement builds on a collaboration that began in 2014, when Tenix first started delivering IT services to Tide’s bus fleet. With this new phase, the partnership is significantly expanded to include comprehensive fleet management systems and advanced driving style analysis tools. These systems will be deployed across more than 800 buses operating in regions such as Trondheim, Vestfold, Sogn, and Sunnhordaland.
A central component of the agreement is the implementation of Tenix’s driving style system, which enables detailed analysis of driver behavior. By monitoring factors such as acceleration, braking, and energy usage, Tide can identify opportunities to improve driving efficiency and reduce fuel consumption. This not only lowers operating costs but also contributes to reduced emissions and more sustainable operations.
In addition, the fleet management system provides real-time insights into vehicle performance, route efficiency, and operational status. This allows Tide to optimize scheduling, improve maintenance planning, and ensure a higher level of service reliability. As public transport systems become increasingly complex, access to accurate and actionable data is essential for maintaining competitiveness and meeting regulatory requirements.
“Tenix is a forward-thinking supplier with a strong focus on innovative solutions and optimal operations. We have had very positive experiences with Tenix over a ten-year partnership and look forward to continuing to work with them to create excellent and sustainable travel experiences,” says Ronny Paulsen, Director of Business Development at Tide.
The fact that Tenix signs agreement with Tide as a renegotiation and expansion of an existing contract demonstrates the value delivered through the partnership. Long-term collaboration has allowed both companies to continuously refine and improve their systems, ensuring that the solutions remain aligned with evolving industry needs.
From a strategic perspective, the agreement strengthens Tenix’s footprint in the Norwegian market and reinforces its position as a total supplier of digital solutions for the bus industry. As the transition toward electrification and sustainable mobility accelerates, demand for integrated systems that combine fleet management, energy optimization, and driver analytics is expected to grow significantly.
For Tide, the continued partnership with Tenix supports its ambition to remain at the forefront of sustainable transport. By leveraging advanced technology, the company can deliver safer, more efficient, and more environmentally friendly services to passengers across Norway and Denmark.
