Challenge
Building reliability into a growing electric fleet
Vy Buss is rapidly electrifying its fleet, with approximately 350 electric buses already in operation and plans to expand significantly from its total fleet of 3,300 vehicles. With growth comes complexity: electric buses require new tools, new routines, and guaranteed operational reliability to keep passengers moving.
“An increasing proportion of our buses are electric. Electric buses require new tools and routines, which is why we have chosen to purchase a charging management system from Tenix. We look forward to starting and ensuring the best possible charging of our electric buses so that we can continue to transport passengers in an environmentally friendly manner.”
— Vidar Hauan, Director of Operations and Development, Vy Buss
Smart charging with Tenix Charge
Saga Tenix will deliver the Tenix-ladning system to all depots where Vy Buss operates electric buses in route or commercial traffic.
Tenix Charge integrates seamlessly with:
- Route planning systems
- Chargers
- Nordpool power market
Artificial intelligence optimizes charging based on time, traffic, temperature, and topology—ensuring each bus has the correct power level for the next day’s route. This increases operational reliability, lowers costs, and boosts efficiency.
“We greatly appreciate that Vy Buss has chosen Tenix Charge as their charging management system. Vy Buss has made significant progress in the green transition, and we look forward to working with them on the transition to an all-electric bus fleet.”
— Torbjørn G. Krøvel, CEO of Saga Tenix
A journey of collaboration
The three-year framework agreement (valued at up to 10 million NOK) begins with rollout to 70 buses in Drammen in 2024, with expansion planned across Norway and Sweden. The partnership ensures Vy Buss has the digital infrastructure needed to operate safely, sustainably, and at scale.
Scaling towards a greener fleet
Vy’s commitment to electrification is part of its broader mission: safe, efficient, and sustainable public transport. With Tenix Charge, Vy can ensure that every new electric bus added to the fleet is supported by reliable, optimized charging.
