As of December 2023, Tenix and Schaus Buss have entered into a three-year partnership, marking a significant step forward in smart fleet management for the public transport sector in Eastern Norway. Tenix, a leading provider of smartbus and fleet management solutions, will deploy its advanced platform, Tenix Bus, across Schaus’ fleet of 50 buses, which includes both coaches and regional buses.

The Tenix and Schaus partnership is designed to enhance operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability through data-driven insights. By implementing Tenix Bus, Schaus gains access to a comprehensive suite of tools, including Eco-drive driving analysis. This feature is specifically developed to reduce fuel consumption, minimize environmental impact, and promote more efficient driving behavior across the fleet.

Through the Tenix and Schaus collaboration, Schaus will be able to leverage real-time and historical data to better understand fleet performance. The Tenix Bus platform provides detailed analytics on vehicle usage, driver behavior, and operational patterns. This enables Schaus to identify inefficiencies, optimize routes, and implement smarter decision-making processes that improve both cost efficiency and service quality.

A key highlight of the Tenix and Schaus agreement is the integration of next-generation gateways into Schaus’ buses. These gateways act as the technological backbone of the solution, enabling features such as automatic tachograph downloads, crash detection, and advanced diagnostics. By centralizing this data, Tenix and Schaus are creating a more connected and intelligent fleet ecosystem.

Safety is another critical focus of the Tenix and Schaus partnership. With enhanced monitoring and real-time alerts, Schaus can proactively address potential risks and ensure a safer environment for both drivers and passengers. The combination of driver login systems and gateway technology also improves accountability and compliance, further strengthening operational standards.

“We are excited about the partnership between Tenix and Schaus and the opportunity to support their journey toward smarter fleet operations,” says Torbjørn Krøvel, CEO of Tenix. “As one of the most reputable bus companies in Eastern Norway, Schaus is well positioned to benefit from the insights and efficiencies that Tenix Bus delivers.”

Strategic value for Schaus and Long Term Growth

For Schaus, the collaboration with Tenix represents a strategic investment in technology that supports long-term growth and service excellence. The ability to use data to validate performance and ensure consistent service quality is a key advantage in a competitive transport market.

“This partnership between Tenix and Schaus is an important step for us,” says Lasse Aarstrand, General Manager of Schaus. “Our customers rely on us for safe and reliable transport. With Tenix Bus, we can now use data to document and guarantee the quality of our operations.”

The rollout of Tenix Bus across the Schaus fleet is scheduled to begin in January 2024, with the full agreement spanning three years. During this period, both Tenix and Schaus will continue to explore opportunities to further optimize fleet performance and integrate new functionalities as technology evolves.
