Depot Parking Management in Tenix Charge

Depot Parking Management for Real-Time Depot Visibility and Control

For depot operators, keeping track of what’s happening across a busy yard has always required a mix of experience, instinct, and a lot of walking around. Which vehicles are charging? Which ones are ready to go? Is that bus in Bay 7 ready for the morning shift, or is there an open work order nobody’s flagged yet? These are questions that too often rely on in-house knowledge and manual checks. The new Depot Parking Management & Visualisation feature in Tenix Charge gives operators a real-time graphical view of the whole depot. They can see every bay, every vehicle, and every charge level in one view.

Real-Time Depot Visualisation

This new feature uses vehicle telemetry, charging data, and geofencing to give a real-time overview of what is happening in the depot. When vehicles move in or out of parking bays, the system detects their positions and updates the map automatically. Each spot on the depot layout shows which vehicle is there, its current charge level, and whether it is charging, fully charged, or just parked.

Colour-coded indicators highlight critical situations right away. For example, you can quickly spot a vehicle with a low state of charge, a failed charging session, or a bay occupied by a bus not connected to a charger. There’s no need to search through dashboards or go down to the yard to get a full overview.

Connecting the Depot to Maintenance and Fleet Data

The feature becomes even more useful when it connects with the rest of the Tenix platform. In the future, the depot map will display live data from Tenix Maintenance, showing open issues and active work orders right on each vehicle’s position. Dispatchers will see if the vehicle in Bay 4 has an unresolved fault and should not be assigned to the next route. There’s no need to call the workshop.

The feature also works outside the depot. By connecting with Tenix Fleet, operators can track vehicles on routes, monitor their real-time charge levels, and see which might return with too little charge for their next job. If a replacement is needed, the depot map helps you identify the best parked vehicle to use.

Managing a depot with a growing fleet of electric vehicles is a complex operation. Charge levels, vehicle readiness, maintenance status, and parking logistics all need to be monitored and managed. Traditionally, each has been tracked separately, and too often this is done manually and rarely in real time. Tenix Charge is changing that. Its depot management capabilities are designed to give operators a complete, live picture of everything happening to electric vehicles across their depot, and the tools to act on it quickly and confidently.

Operational Impact on Daily Depot Workflows

Depot Parking Management lets dispatchers and yard managers track vehicle status without juggling different systems or waiting for radio updates. The live depot view helps them quickly find vehicles, check if they’re charged, and confirm they’re ready for upcoming routes. This is especially helpful during busy times, making turnaround faster and lowering the chance of sending out vehicles that aren’t ready.

The visual layer helps teams work together more smoothly. Operations, maintenance, and charging managers all use the same real-time view, which cuts down on miscommunication and delays. As a result, departures become more predictable, there’s less need for manual fixes, and vehicles and chargers are used more efficiently, and reducing operational risk across the entire depot.
